Rome, Italy - Wednesday, February 17, 2021

Entando has finalized a €4.0 million framework agreement with the Italian Army (Esercito) to complete multiple enterprise software projects.  The agreement has provision for the payment for both software and services over a multi year contract.

This agreement is a part of the digital transformation strategy within Esercito focusing on simplifying and standardizing application modernization on Kubernetes for the hybrid cloud. The Entando platform reduces the complexity of development and maintenance of applications on OpenShift and other Kubernetes platforms. An additional benefit to this strategy is the reuse of code components across projects, facilitated by the Entando Component Repository.

“We are very supportive of the leadership at Esercito who have also helped the Entando open source community to refine many requirements needed by developers and operations teams transitioning to Kubernetes,” said Paul Hinz, Entando CEO. “With multiple projects being implemented on Entando as a standard platform, Esercito is leading the industry in the use of micro frontends and microservices in the transition to modern applications for the hybrid cloud.”

Entando recently released version 6.3 of the platform, about which you can learn more here.
